Roll a Dice

THIS WEEK’S VIDEO

This week we were tasked to create a circut to model an electronic dice, similar to what you would see in a vdeo game controller. This was by far the most challenging task that we have had, and took quite a bit of research on my part to figure it out. There are a lot of resources on the web to refer to, but I found myself taking parts of different examples to get it to work correctly. The amount of components were also a challenge with wires and resisitors everywhere. My project is still not 100% correct. The LEDs light up in more of a random pattern then you would want them to and I’m not quite sure if the button is working correctly.

After some adjustments, I was able to get numbers to come up. I am still not done with the project, it feels to pieced together and not comprehensive at this point, so I would like to keep playing with it. This would be great to do with students during a probability unit as an extension project.
